About the organization
Adler Graduate Professional School Inc. (“ADLER” or the “School”) traces its lineage back to 1978 and was the first to offer graduate-level professional psychology degrees in Ontario. We were founded on the desire to offer academic programs and degrees that prepare students for professions in mental health and well-being. As of 2022, we offer a Master of Psychology degree, a Doctor of Psychology degree, an ICF-approved Coaching Certificate, and Continuing Education programs. We apply a hands-on approach in all our courses and programs and to this end, all ADLER instructors are practitioners who bring their professional experience into the classroom. Our objective is to help students secure suitable employment and develop further in positions they hold.
About the position
The Registrar supports the School by serving as administrative liaison between faculty, administration, and students. The Registrar controls acceptance and registration of Faculty of Psychology students, maintains the academic records of all students, and plans and implements the registration process for classes. Responsibilities include keeping records of all classes and curriculum prerequisites, determining students’ graduation eligibility, and preparing information such as transcripts and certificates. Crucially, you will share the founder’s passion for the Adlerian values of mutual respect and collaboration.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Control acceptance and registration of Faculty of Psychology students
- Build rapport with students and faculty, and serve as information resource
- Manage student information and ensure security of documents and records
- Manage, process, and enter data from extensively detailed paperwork
- Plan and organize Orientation Day and Convocation for students
- Work with Accounting to ensure effective invoicing
- Ensure that students meet appropriate milestones and register in proper courses
- Work with Dean of Psychology and Academic Administration Manager to establish required courses and schedule
- Oversee, track, and audit grades and evaluation process, and flag failing grades
- Oversee annual update of Academic Calendar and Student Handbook
- Supervise daily work of team members, set priorities, and monitor progress
- Support and mentor directs reports and manage their performance
- Complete probationary and annual performance appraisals for direct reports
Qualifications and Skills
- University undergraduate or college diploma
- Experience in similar setting, with track record of success in identifying issues, implementing standards, and ensuring that documentation is complete
- Fully comfortable with MS Office and virtual meeting technology (Zoom, Teams)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated systems thinking and change management skills
- Superior time management skills (ability to prioritize)
- Ability to connect with people from various backgrounds and degrees of experience
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues quickly
- Ability to be tactful yet firm in various situations
- Availability to work outside of regular business hours, if needed
